OREM, Utah (July 31, 2025) — The 2025 USL W League champions continued to rack up wins Thursday.
Utah United received four all-league honors on the USL W League first and second team, the 93-team pre-professional league announced Thursday.
United’s four honorees are the most in the league, with fellow USL W finalist NC Courage U23, Annapolis Blues FC and Minnesota Aurora FC each receiving two.
“We are excited for these four individuals in Seven Castain, Lilliah Blum, Kaitlyn Richins and Taylor Rath and congratulate them on their recognition,” Utah United coach Scott Halasz said. “They all consistently performed at a high level all summer and deserve to be recognized for that. We now look forward to watching them replicate their summer success with their respective universities.
“The great thing is individual awards in a team sport cannot happen without the collective efforts of their teammates,” he added. “These four pushed their teammates and were pushed by their teammates to be at their best each and every day.“
Utah was led by 2025 Golden Boot winner Seven Castain, the TCU striker from Draper, Utah. The Mountain Division Player of the Year scored 17 goals en route to the team’s 9-1 record in the regular season with four more in the playoffs, including a brace in the club’s 2-1 win over FC Olympia in a Western Conference semifinal.
Lilliah Blum added All-USL W League first-team honors after the University of Utah winger from Verona, Wisconsin, scored six goals in 10 matches, including the third goal as a halftime substitute in the USL W Final against the Courage.
Utah “Iron Woman” Kaitlyn Richins rounded out United’s first-team honorees following a season where she logged more than 1,000 minutes. The Layton, Utah, native and former All-Mountain West standout at Utah State led a back line that allowed just one goal in the playoffs and finished the postseason with three consecutive clean sheets.
In addition, Utah United goalkeeper Taylor Rath — the Las Vegas native who is headed to Utah State for her senior season — earned all-league second team honors after logging more than 900 minutes between the pipes with seven clean sheets in the summer.
“Each of these incredible athletes are deserving of these awards and recognition for the season that ended with a championship in our inaugural season,” Utah United general manager Matt Walbruch said. “They showed up to train hard every day, pushed themselves and their teammates, and truly demonstrated our motto to ‘demand excellence.’
“They guided us to a national championship in year one, but they are truly remarkable players both on and off the pitch.”
