HERRIMAN — While the 6A tournament went all chalk en route to top-seeded Lone Peak and No. 2 Davis facing off in the championship match, Tuesday’s 4A and 5A girls soccer state semifinals were a bit more unpredictable.

5A girls soccer: region rivals Brighton, Olympus take Tuesday upsets
Friday’s championship game between Olympus and Brighton has the potential to be heated and fierce. The two Region 6 foes traded 2-1 wins in the regular season, with the rubber-match scheduled for 1 p.m. MT Friday at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.
4A girls soccer: lower-seeded Ridgeline, Crimson Cliffs stun top seeds to set up title bout
Ridgeline has been nearly unbeaten over the past two months, and the trend continued Tuesday when the fourth-seeded Riverhawks bullied their way to a 1-0 win victory over top-seeded Park City to advance to the 4A championship for the second-straight season.
In the other semifinal, Crimson Cliffs needed just one goal from Emmie Gardner to upend second-seeded Green Canyon to book a spot opposite Ridgeline.
Friday’s 4A championship kicks off at 1 p.m. MT at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.
