Diego Luna, Sergi Solans keep RSL rolling with 4-2 win over San Diego, Team of the Matchday performance
Luna continued his scoring pace, and Solans bagged his first professional brace to keep Real Salt Lake's unbeaten streak alive at six straight.
Real Salt Lake kept rolling behind two of its biggest stars to start the 2026 season — one expected, the other perhaps not so much.
Diego Luna had a goal and two assists, and Sergi Solans added an assist to go with his first professional brace as Salt Lake improved to 5-1-1 with a 4-2 win Saturday night over San Diego FC in Sandy, Utah.
Morgan Guilavogui also scored his first goal in MLS play in the win, which saw both Luna and Solans named to Team of the Matchday’s starting XI by MLS for Week 8.
They’re the fourth and fifth goals of the season for Solans, a rookie who played collegiately at UCLA and Oregon State before opting to sign a professional contract — and now leads RSL’s Golden Boot race seven matches into the season.
