It all comes down to this.
Utah United will play for a USL W League championship in its first season when the only USL W club in the Beehive State hosts the USL W Final at BYU’s South Field.
It’s a new feeling for United (12-1), the first-year franchise that stormed the Mountain division, razed the West, and stunned fellow national semifinalist Minnesota Aurora to set up Saturday’s tilt.
Led by USL W Golden Boot winner Seven Castain, whose 20 goals included an 86th-minute game-winner against three-time Northwest division champion FC Olympia to propel the playoff push, Utah United has been stingy on defense behind Connecticut-bound center back Kaitlyn Richins’ 1,000 minutes, incoming Utah Valley outside back Tylie Pratt Miller, and Utah State goalkeeper Taylor Rath.
North Carolina (13-0-2) is led by a bevy of experience from last year’s championship squad that will be playing in its second consecutive national final against an expansion team from the Mountain division.
The Courage are led by a bevy of key returners, including Mississippi State’s Hannah Jibril, Charlotte’s Amelia Brown, Louisville’s Mackenzie Geigle and Auburn’s Taylor Chism who all lifted the Cup in 2024 and were part of the 2023 USL W runner-up squad.
