Real Monarchs took a stoppage-time victory — its second-straight on the road against Western Conference opponents — with a 1-0 win over North Texas SC on Friday night in Arlington, Texas.
Moses Nyeman scored the lone goal for the Monarchs (2-3-0, 6 points), a splashy free kick deep into five minutes of stoppage time to secure the win in the DFW Metroplex.
Featuring a lineup that included Real Salt Lake regulars Ilijah Paul, Bertin Jacquesson and Erik Holt alongside goalkeeper Gavin Beavers, Nyeman scored the first goal of his Salt Lake career and just the second of the season for a Real Monarchs squad on the eve of RSL’s Saturday home match against San Jose (7:30 p.m. MDT, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV).
