Real Salt Lake’s 21st regular-season schedule has a start date, an end date, and most of everything in the middle.
Real Salt Lake’s 21st regular-season schedule has a start date, an end date, and most of everything in the middle.
The club will kick off the 2025 campaign Wednesday, February 19 when it travels to Costa Rica to face CS Herediano in CONCACAF Champions Cup play — its first foray into continental competition since 2015-16 — through a Saturday, Oct. 18 MLS Decision Day encounter with St. Louis City SC.
In between, Salt Lake will play 34 regular-season matches in league play, up to nine Champions Cup tilts, and seven of its first 13 matches across all competition at home in Sandy, Utah, where RSL went 12-3-4 in 2024.
The club’s MLS home opener is Saturday, March 1 against conference rival Seattle Sounders FC, a 2 p.m. MT kickoff that is the earliest day game at home in the clubs’ two-decade history.
The first-ever matches against expansion side San Diego FC — Major League Soccer’s 30th team — will be Saturday, March 8 at home before traveling to Snapdragon Stadium for the April 26 return date.
The club’s longest-running, fan-made rivalry will kick off two games of the Rocky Mountain Cup with a May 17 trip to the Colorado Rapids, before the two clubs decide the Cup in RSL’s penultimate regular-season match Oct. 4 at home.
And of course, the annual July fireworks matches are back, scheduled for the July 5 home game against St. Louis City SC and July 26 home match against the San Jose Earthquakes.
Every game of the 2025 MLS season will stream on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV as part of the third year of the league’s multibillion-dollar broadcasting agreement with the telecommunications giant. FOX Sports will air 34 games in the United States, including 15 matches on over-the-air FOX and 19 more on FS1, along with supplementary live programming on FOX Deportes in Spanish.
And there’s the return of Leagues Cup, the official CONCACAF competition between Mexico’s Liga MX and MLS that will return between July 29 and Aug. 31 before the stretch run to the MLS Cup Playoffs, scheduled to conclude Saturday, Dec. 6 in the league’s annual title match.
