Jesus Barea scored in the 89th minute as Real Monarchs rallied to a 2-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 to clinch all 3 points at home.
Yeider Zuluaga gave the Whitecaps (4-12-3, 17 points) an early lead, firing a low shot inside the bottom right corner to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage.
Felix Ewald equalized just 10 minutes later, neatly heading home Luis Rivera’s corner kick in the 39th minute en route to a 1-1 halftime draw.
Max Kerkvliet made three saves for the Monarchs (6-8-4, 26 points), and Barea scored a goal for the third consecutive game (and 11th time in the past 10 MLS NEXT Pro appearances) when a failed clearance fell to his feet in the 89th minute for a clean putback.
