SANDY, Utah — Sergi Solans scored his fourth goal in the last five matches for Real Salt Lake (8-6-4, 28 points) across all competitions, and eighth of the season as the rookie from Lleida, Spain, works on his campaign for MLS Newcomer of the Year award for 2026.
Joaquín Pereyra equalized in the 89th minute, and Drake Callender made six saves to make it stand up for Minnesota (6-6-7, 25 points).
But perhaps a greater concern came in the first 12 minutes of the game, when RSL starting wing back Zach Booth pulled up clutching his right hamstring after challenging for the ball. The Utah native had to be helped to the locker room by team medical staff, and was quickly ruled out with a right hamstring injury — an injury that head coach Pablo Mastroeni said would likely keep him out for a significant amount of time, at least six weeks.
Dominik Marczuk was the early sub for Booth, and Mastroeni noted that DeAndre Yedlin — who was suspended for Saturday night’s contest due to yellow-card accumulation — is in line to play the wing back spot in Salt Lake’s 3-4-3 formation.
RSL returns to Sandy to host FC Dallas on Wednesday, August 19 for its fifth and final home game in a stretch of 15 days. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. MT on Apple TV.
