OREM, Utah — Nil Grau scored on a header in the seventh minute as 16th-ranked Utah Valley men’s soccer wrapped up nonconference play Saturday night with a 1-1 draw with Santa Clara at UCCU Stadium.
Will Wiersdorf equalized for the Broncos (3-2-4) in the 67th minute, snapping the Wolverines’ 607-minute shutout streak with the first goal-against from open play in eight matches dating back to last season.
Grau earned a penalty in the 51st minute for Utah Valley (6-0-1), but Trevor Walk’s spot attempt was saved.

Utah Valley opens Western Athletic Conference play on the road Oct. 4 against Grand Canyon. The 8 p.m. MDT kickoff will be streamed on ESPN+.
