Real Monarchs dropped their third consecutive match Sunday afternoon, a 3-0 defeat to Portland Timbers 2 at America First Field that pushed the RSL reserve side down to ninth in MLS NEXT Pro’s Western Conference with a 2-3-2 record (10 points).

Max Kerkvliet stopped a penalty kick for the Monarchs, who were otherwise overwhelmed by the No. 7 team in the West.
