Record setting: Utah United women, men keep hold atop Mountain division with shutout wins
Seven Castain tied a USL W League record with five goals and two assists as Utah United women cruised to an 18-0 win over CISA in the regular-season home finale at Clyde Field.

OREM, Utah (June 20, 2025) — Goals came in bunches for Utah United men and women during the clubs’ doubleheader finale Thursday at Clyde Field.
Seven Castain tied a league record with six goals and added two assists as Utah United women cruised tied a USL W League record with an 18-0 win over Colorado International Soccer Academy (CISA) at Utah Valley University.
United (7-1, 21 points) tied the Long Island Roughriders for most goals in a match and largest margin of victory in league history, after the Roughriders beat the Fayetteville Fury 18-0 back on July 6, 2022.
Castain’s five goals scored are the most in a single match since Neomi Pacquin scored five goals for Miami AC against the Tallahassee Reckoning back on June 5, 2024.
She wasn’t the only one. Ruby Hladek, Mckenzie Evans and Kennedy Heavrin each had a hat trick, Kaylie Chambers notched a brace, and Afton Perry added a goal while Taylor Rath and Haven Empey split the shutout in goal to keep Utah atop the Mountain division after a 2-1 loss to the Colorado Storm last week.
“Coming off the loss to Colorado, a big thing today was coming out and finishing our chances and limiting their opportunities,” said Castain, the All-Big 12 forward at TCU from Draper who nearly doubled her previous goal tally to 14 on the year. “I think today was about finding those good opportunities, and playing the people who are in the best positions.”
Utah United wraps up its inaugural regular season next week with back-to-back road matches at Flatirons FC and Albion SC Colorado — and able to clinch a USL W Mountain division title.

Seven Castain, FW: The rising senior at TCU who prepped at Waterford nearly doubled her season goal-scoring tally with six goals, all in the first half. She also had a pair of assists before coming off in the 63rd minute for Kennedy Heavrin, who scored a hat trick of her own.
Utah United men move to top of Mountain with shutout win
Samir Cuevas had a brace and Utah United won back-to-back games for the first time since May 31 to cruise to an 8-0 win over CISA at Clyde Field.
After a pair of goals by Tyson Nguyen and Alejandro Silva before the 12th minute, Utah’s Larsen Rogers put United up 3-0 at halftime.
But Utah (6-2-1, 19 points) wasn’t done yet. In addition to Cuevas’ second-half brace, Bony Ulrich, Adonis Igouwe and Landon Huebner each bagged a goal to help United to a two-point lead over Flatirons FC (5-1-2, 17 points) atop the Mountain division.
Flatirons, which drew Colorado Storm 2-2 Thursday night, also has a game in hand with four matches remaining to Utah’s three.

Samir Cuevas, FW: The rising junior striker from Valera, Venezuela by way of Draper’s Corner Canyon notched a brace in the second half as Utah turned a 3-0 halftime lead into an 8-0 rout to stay atop the USL League Two Mountain division table.
