Utah college soccer: Faith Webber's school-record performance lifts Utah Valley to senior night shutout
Webber scored a school-record five goals to lead Utah Valley to a senior-night rout of Southern Utah, 8-0 Thursday at UCCU Stadium in Orem.

OREM, Utah — Faith Webber scored a school-record five goals to lead Utah Valley to a senior-night rout of Southern Utah, 8-0 Thursday at UCCU Stadium in Orem.
The graduate senior forward had a hat trick in the first 15 minutes of the game, added a fourth at the 20-minute mark, and added another in the second half to help the Wolverines (10-4-2, 6-0-1 WAC) clinch a spot in the four-team WAC Tournament to be held Nov. 5-8 in Orem.
She’s one of just two players nationally with five goals in a single match.
Ruby Hladek added a goal and an assist for Utah Valley, which got goals from Sierra Pennock and Sadie Beardall in the shutout win.
“When I came here, I just wanted to make an impact,” Webber said in a news release after the match. “Now that I have the career and single-game records, I hope my legacy goes beyond soccer — to inspire players to believe they can reach things they didn’t think were possible.”
Webber’s four first-half goals tied the Utah Valley record for most goals in a single game in program history. The graduate student celebrating senior night did one in the 70th minute, slotting one inside the left post to give the Wolverines a 7-0 lead in the rout.
Prior to the match, Utah Valley honored its six seniors who will wrap up their final regular season at the newly constructed, $28 million UCCU Stadium on Monday against fellow in-state rival Utah Tech.
Leading the group are Webber, who ranks first nationally in shots per game (5.33) and 10th in shots on goal per game (2.07); and Hladek, who ranks ninth nationally in points per game (1.87) and ninth in total points (28).
