GOLDEN, Colo. (June 26, 2025) — Utah United women are 1-for-1.
TCU forward and Draper native Seven Castain scored a brace as Utah United cruised to an 8-0 road win over Flatirons FC to clinch the Mountain division title Thursday night at Stermole Stadium on the campus of Colorado School of Mines.
Kelly Bullock, Lilliah Blum, Ruby Hladek, Kaylie Chambers, Keira Robertson and Brooklyn Kirkpatrick each added a goal for Utah, which improved to 8-1 in the club’s inaugural season in USL W League play.
United pushed up to 24 points on the season, three more than Colorado Storm to clinch a USL W League playoff berth with just one match remaining.
Led by Castain’s league-high 16 goals, Utah has scored 58 goals with just four goals conceded on the year, a staggering 54-goal differential that leads all USL W League teams (Sporting JAX, which rated two spots ahead of United at No. 6 in the weekly league power rankings, is second with a plus-45 goal differential).
Bullock opened the scoring just 11 minutes in, Blum doubled the advantage five minutes later, and Castain’s brace and a goal by Hladek before the 26th minute help Utah cruise to a 5-0 halftime lead.
Incoming Utah State goalkeeper Taylor Rath earned the shutout in goal for Utah United.
“Our goal coming into tonight was to clinch the conference title,” Utah United head coach Scott Halasz said. “Tonight we did that with another great all around game. A lot has been said about our ability in front of goal. However, as impressive as we have been in front of goal our team’s commitment and ability to limit opponents’ opportunities has been overlooked.”

Quotable: Utah United women head coach Scott Halasz
“With this being our first year in the league we weren't sure what to expect. We wanted to showcase the talent currently playing in Utah and that grew up playing in Utah. As a staff, we are extremely grateful that we have been able to be a part of their journey and hope to continue showcasing what these great women can do over the next few weeks.”
Player of the Match
Kaylie Chambers, FW: The forward from Arvada, Colorado who plays at Utah State followed up a hat trick last week with a goal Thursday night. But it was her off-ball movement and work ethic that made the former Mountain West tournament MVP stand out.
“Sometimes that doesn’t show in the statistics but today it did for her,” Halasz said.
